Area Intelligence summarizes the aircraft currently inside a rectangle you draw on the live map. It helps answer what is visible now, which roles dominate the area and which individual contacts deserve a closer look.
From a crowded map to an analytical snapshot
A map is excellent for showing position but less effective at explaining a dense cluster. Area Intelligence takes the contacts inside a user-defined geographic boundary and builds a compact summary: total aircraft, airborne state, altitude distribution, capability mix and notable movement signals.
The analysis follows the open selection as the map moves or zooms. Fresh aircraft data and active filters are incorporated, so the panel reflects the current view instead of preserving an obsolete first result.

- Open any listed contact and move directly to its live target view.
What the summary is designed to answer
The tool is most useful for bounded questions: How many aircraft are in this corridor? Is the cluster mostly commercial traffic or transport activity? Are several aircraft climbing, descending or operating at similar altitudes? Which aircraft types account for the visible pattern?
These are descriptive questions based on current telemetry. Airplane Mode deliberately avoids presenting a destination or mission when one has not been reported. A projected position shows where the current track may lead over a short interval; it is not a destination forecast.
How to compare two areas
Use the same active filters and a similar map scale. Draw one boundary, note its contact count and capability mix, then move the map while keeping the analysis window open. The summary updates against the new geography, making it possible to compare corridors without rebuilding the selection each time.
For meaningful comparisons, remember that a live snapshot is sensitive to time, coverage and temporary gaps. It describes the visible moment, not a long-term average.
Where area analysis becomes especially useful
Military filters can isolate support aircraft around an exercise area. An altitude filter can reveal high-level overflights above dense lower traffic. Known-identity filtering can separate well-resolved contacts from anonymous returns. Combining one filter at a time keeps the result understandable.
The same workflow is useful for airports, coastlines, border regions and oceanic corridors. The value comes from narrowing a large live picture into a question small enough to inspect.
What to know before opening the radar
Does the analysis update after I move the map?+
Yes. The geographic bounds are recalculated after map movement, zoom, filter changes and incoming aircraft updates.
Is the analyst brief generated by an AI model?+
No. It is produced locally from explicit telemetry and classification rules so the result remains fast and explainable.
Does a projection predict the destination?+
No. It extends the current speed and heading for a short period and should only be read as projected movement.
